Vorrei ricordarlo con le tre poesie che mi toccano di più il cuore (tra le mille...)

My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

E se mi devi amare per null’altro sia
che per amore. Non dire mai "L’amo per il
sorriso, per lo sguardo, per il modo
gentile di parlare, per le idee
che alle mie s’ accordano, che un giorno
mi resero sereno". Queste cose,
mio Amato, possono in sé mutare o per te mutare.
Così fatto un amore può disfarsi.
E ancora non amarmi per la pietà che
le mie guance asciuga. Il pianto
può scordare chi lungamente ebbe
il tuo conforto, e perdere, così, l’ amor tuo.
